FightMusic.info Description:
‘Testify’ is the third single off influential funk metal band Rage Against the Machine’s third studio album called ‘The Battle of Los Angeles’. The song has a number of political and social references, including the 1968 Black Power Salute at the Summer Olympics as well as references from George Orwell’s novel 1984 in its lyrics. It is noted for its unorthodox guitar-playing, as is usually the case with most RATM songs. The music video, directed by acclaimed director Michael Moore, offered a satirical take on the lack of choice in the US electorate. It spoofs Bush and Al Gore, the-then presidential candidates as one alien mutant, with similar views and ideas.
